There are two different exercises you can do around values:

  1. Criteria for VALUE (example success): Having Success means for me that ..... and you can bring in some other values such as family, health or financial freedom into the mix as well.

This exercise is more about describing any of those values, and you can for instance say

Passions means that I am persistent, spiritual, .... brining in a few values into the criteria.

Example

Freedom - Taking time to be myself, letting go. Being an independent human being and doing things for myself. Like staying fit, not eating meat, not going with the flow - being healthy, conscious about my alcohol intake; getting my tattoos in midlife - yet also travelling to all those places on the bucket list; meditating, and being me, no matter what anyone else says or might think. To achieve that alongside other things does require self-discipline. Independence. Personal achievement.


  1. This is a similar exercise where you write a bit more about new rules you have around them.

Example:

Value = Health

My new rules for experiencing Health are:

a) Anytime I make a healthy food choice, or

b) Anytime I exercise or play sports, or
